Hey there lovely people! Nope, you read that title correctly. Your girl is still talking about wide leg cropped pants. Only this time I’ve got them in denim. But not just any denim, this denim is from Lane Bryant’s Eco-Chic line and made from REPREVE® fabric, which if you recall from my lounge wear post, is made from recycled water bottles.
Brands that use REPREVE recycled fibers contribute to reducing plastic pollution and helping to preserve natural resources because these fibers requiring less petroleum, energy and water to produce. As I mentioned in the lounge wear post, you can visit the REPREVE website to discover which of your favorite brands are using this fabric. You can spot items made with REPREVE fabrics by looking for the green water bottle tag. Unifi, the makers of REPREVE, has recycled over 20 billion plastic bottles.
Okay, so let’s get into this look shall we? For starters, I am definitely feeling the medium wash color of this denim and I appreciate that there is no distressing. Which means I can wear them to my casual office. That is, if we ever go back to working in the office.(Side note, I’d be completely alright with working from home forever. I love it) And yes, I totally used this distinction to justify this purchase because I already own a very similar light wash pair of wide leg cropped jeans from Eloquii that are distressed.
I am currently in between sizes so I decided to size up to ensure that I get more of a boyfriend fit i the waist and a true relaxed, wide fit from the hip down. These wide leg crops can be paired with just about anything from your favorite tees and sneakers to a crisp white button up and classic loafers. I’ve paired it with one of my go to work tops, the Harper blouse from Torrid. But what I love most about cropped pants is their ability to make your outfit all about the shoes! Because a cropped pant allows for a full view of your shoes, I like to wear a pair worth showing off, like these super cute animal print d’orsay strapy flats also from Torrid.
I think I’ve gone on enough about wide leg crop pants, although I also think they work pretty good as transitional pieces from summer to fall, especially if you live in a warmer climate like I do. Is that a warning of future post to come, probably! But in the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions and as always, thanks so much for reading.
