Hey babes, I can’t believe that it’s already June! Although, I’ve no doubt that the temperature will soon make it feel like reality. I thought I would talk a bit about transitional pieces that will take you from spring into summer and at the same time share with you how I style my everyday summer basics, jeans and t-shirts. These particular photos were taken back at the beginning of spring, hence the fallen leaves still on the ground. But let’s get into this outfit and how easily these pieces can be transitioned for summer.
When the weather heats up, my style can get pretty minimal pretty quick. You can never go wrong with a comfy pair of jeans and a great t-shirt. These jeans from Old Navy are a lighter weight denim making them a great option for summer. They also have a decent amount of stretch so they stay comfortable all day. And for those of us who may not love the idea of wearing shorts, cropped jeans are a perfect solution. Not to mention that cropped pants are having a trending moment right now and since they are tall girl friendly, I personally hope they stick around for a while! Side note, I’m especially loving wide leg cropped pants. I recently purchased a pair of wide legged cropped jeans from Eloquii that I can’t wait to style. But that is an ensemble for another post, let’s get back to this look shall we?
Nothing pairs better with jeans than a great t-shirt. My favorite place to purchase graphic tees like this one is Torrid. Their tees are a longer length making them perfect for someone with a longer torso. I recently discovered and fell in love with their classic fit girlfriend tee, and have already purchased multiple colors. I am certain they will be my go to t-shirts all summer long.
This anorak is also from Torrid. I picked this one up about two summers ago but I’ve noticed they tend to come out with new colors every year. Probably because this is a great layering piece regardless of the season. This piece is made of a lightweight linen type fabric that would work well layered over a tank top during the warmer months. I love the military vibe of this piece without it being a camo print. Bonus points because it has a hood!
All that’s needed to transition this outfit for a summer day is the perfect sandal or flip flop. And since we’ve been talking about Torrid this entire blog, I might as well mention that they have also become my go to place for wide width sandals. The mules in this photo are a few years old and are from the Avenue, which is another great spot for finding sandals and almost always have a sale going on!

That’s all I’ve got for now. Thanks so much for checking out the blog. I hope where ever you are in this world the weather is cooperating and allowing you to dress your absolute best! And if the weather where you are has already kicked up the heat, I hope you are finding a way to keep cool. In the mean time, I’ll be chillin’ in the air conditioning! Happy Summer!

Love the look, simple yet put together! And I’m tots with you on the cropped pants. They are preferred length and since I’m in the south I can pretty much wear them year round.
