Hi curl friends, or better yet, let me shout out, Happy New Year!!!! We made it out of 2020 and my fingers are crossed that 2021 will be a much better year. But no matter what the new year brings, I’ve put together a list of products that will help you ensure your hair is always looking it’s best.
Honestly, I should probably feel a certain amount of shame at the fact that putting together a list of twenty hair products was a whole lot easier than I thought it would be. And just between you and me, I had more than a a few products to spare. Included in my list are products I reached for most days and products that wowed me! As always this is judgement free zone, right? Right! So let’s get into it!
1.Uncle Funk’s Daughter Curly Magic
You guys already know this is my Holy Grail styler! I only gave this aloe based gel a try because the Kinky Curly Custard left my hair just a bit too crunchy and I don’t love when gels come in a jar. But I have found that there is no other that gel that makes my curls pop the way Curly Magic does.
2. Kinky Curly Knot Today
Another HG, Knot Today is one of the first leave in conditioners I tried and to be honest, if for some reason I could never use another leave in, I think I’d be okay with that!
3. Honey’s Handmade Pumpkin & Kokum Chocolate Deep Conditioning Hair Mask
4. Curl Keeper Flexy Brush
5. Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Shampoo
This shampoo was a pleasant surprise that came as a deluxe sample size, when I ordered the infamous Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioner by Briogeo, which for me did not really live up to the hype. This exfoliating shampoo on the other hand, really packs a punch! I was uber impressed with this moisturizing, scalp tingling, detoxifying (just all the things) cleanser!
6. Camille Rose Naturals Curlaide Moisture Butter
7. Camille Rose Naturals Cocoa Nibs & Honey Hair Growth Serum Oil
Just so you know, you really can’t go wrong with any of the Camille Rose products but the three on this list are for sure my favorites. Particularly the Cocoa Nibs & Honey oil which I use for oiling my scalp during deep conditioning as well as applying lightly to the lengths of my hair before applying my moisturizers and stylers.
8. Thermal Hair Care Hot Head
As you can see in the video above, I wear my Hot Head regularly when deep conditioning. This heated cap is way more convenient than sitting under a hooded dryer to apply head to your deep treatment.
9. ScrunchIt Shower Towel Cap
10. The Curly Co. Microfiber Towel
A microfiber towel is a must have for curly hair. This towel helps to reduce frizz and absorbs the excess moisture and product when scrunching my curls.
11. Camille Rose Naturals Lavender Shaken Hair Spritz
12. Qhemet Biologics Egyptian Wheatgrass Cleansing Tea
13. Qhemet Biologics Castor & Moringa Sofening Serum
I still cant believe that I waited so long to try Qhemet Biologics, especially after having the products in my possession for so long. You can read more about my first impressions here. After trying the Moringa Tree Conditioning Ghee, I knew immediately that I needed to ordered the Cocoa Tree Conditioning Ghee as well.
14. Uniqurl 4-n-1 Styler
This product was another great find. A leave in, detangler, curl cream and moisturizer all in one, yes please! I recently applied this product in the shower, scrunching it in on soaking wet hair. I am currently on day three of my wash and go and I haven’t refreshed yet! Don’t tell anyone, but I did add just a little bit of Curly Magic at the end of my styling process.
15. Kitsch Satin Pillowcase
You can read more about satin pillowcases in my post on why you should sleep on a satin pillowcase.
16. 360 Mist Sprayer
So many of you asked me about this spray bottle when I posted it to my stories. I got this one from Sally’s Beauty Supply but I found some cheaper versions on Amazon.
17. SnozzlePro Universal Hair Dryer Nozzle Adapter
18. Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer
19. Xtava Black Orchid Diffuser Attachment
20. Honey’s Handmade Pumpkin & Agave Shampoo Bar (seasonal limited availability)
I enjoy using shampoo bars in general, mainly because I love how little space they take up in the shower and there is zero waste with no plastic bottle to throw out. But this one somehow feels moisturizing as it lathers in your hair.
Well there you have it friends! Did any of these products make your list of most used items? Were there any products you were expecting to see that didn’t make the list? Leave me a comment and let’s talk about it! As always, thanks so much for reading!
