Even before Covid-19 and shelter in place became a thing, I was always a girl who appreciated relaxing at home. Let’s just say “pajamas all day” was a part of my life long before it was ever a popular Instagram hashtag. It is pretty common place to catch me at home on a weekend curled up with a book or binge watching Netflix while shoving my face with popcorn.
What has been a lot less common place is finding good loungewear in plus size and tall length. That is until a few years ago when Lane Bryant finally decided to start carrying lounge pants in TALL! I mean it only makes sense that the women who purchase pant and jeans in tall would also want loungewear and pajama bottoms in tall, am I right? I honestly don’t understand why it took so long. So it goes without saying that when I find a cute pair in my size I quickly add to cart! (Unfortunately, they are usually only available online.) You can imagine my excitement at finding this palm leaf print pair of pajama pants available in tall and the matching short sleeve kimono robe! Cuuuute! ☺
Believe it or not, my excitement about finding this adorable set didn’t stop there. This loungewear set was part of Lane Bryant’s Eco-Chic Collection created with REPREVE® fabric which is made partly from recycled water bottles. Purchasing items made with REPREVE fabric not only helps to keep plastic out of the landfills but also helps to reduce my carbon footprint. As someone who understands how wasteful the garment industry is, I appreciate being able to participate in conscious consumption.
Compared to making what’s called virgin fiber, making REPREVE® offsets using new petroleum, emitting fewer greenhouse gases and conserving water and energy in the process. That makes a big difference for our future.
If you’d like to shop eco-smart, you can discover what other brands are using REPREVE fabrics by visiting their website. Unfortunately, this collection dropped a while ago and this particular lounge wear set is no longer available at Lane Bryant, but here are a few other pieces from the Eco Chic Collection.
