I know what you’re thinking, wasn’t this chick just talking about wide leg cropped pants a few days ago? Hey, I did say that cropped pants were perfect for the summer time and I absolutely meant it. So today I am sharing these wide leg cropped chinos from Old Navy.
Let me start by saying a big thank you to Old Navy for understanding that cropped pants are not one length fits all and should be available in both petite and tall lengths in straight and plus sizes. You may have seen me rocking a similar pair of cropped chinos on my Instagram in a mustard color. I was so happy with the fabric and fit that I was quick to snatch up a second pair of the cropped wide leg chinos in this green color described on the website as arugula.
It’s not only their length that makes these wide leg cropped chinos must haves. The high waist comes with a secret mesh panel lining the front to give you a slimming effect. Made with 97% soft washed cotton, these chinos are light-weight for summer weather and 3% spandex which gives them a comfortable stretch that skims your curves.
What I love most about cropped pants (other than the notion that they are meant to be short on everybody, not just the tall girls☺) is that it’s basically all about the shoe! The cropped length allows you to show off your shoes and your look can be dressed up or down depending on the shoe you choose. To go with the effortless vibe of summer, I’ve paired these wide leg cropped chinos with a flowy tank and matching flip flop. While even a slightly wide leg can help balance your widest area, it is generally a good idea to balance wide bottom with a more fitted top. But hey, fashion rules are meant to be broken, do you!
Let me know if you will be adding wide leg cropped pants to your summer wardrobe. And if you’ve got a favorite plus size tall brand be sure to share it in the comments. Thanks so much for reading.
