Hello again, curlies! Happy #manemonday! Let’s talk about deep conditioners. I know what you’re thinking, who has time? You do! And Honey’s Handmade has the solution to the lengthy process of deep conditioning with their Just a Minute Mini Series Deep Conditioners.
If you’ve been following me for a while, then you already know how much of an advocate I am for deep conditioners and hair masks. What exactly is the difference between the two any way? Deep conditioners generally soften and condition the hair while hair masks should have some sort of reparative quality like restoring moisture or strengthening the hair. I find that many brands use these terms interchangeably so it is best to read those labels. You want to look for claims and ingredients that are beneficial to your specific hair needs. Another more obvious difference is that masks and treatments are likely to have a longer recommended leave in time.
My preference are hair masks that allow you to leave them in overnight. You know my motto, if a little is good, a lot is better… well the same goes for the length of time for deep conditioning! But seriously, I wash my hair in the shower and I if I apply a 30 minute hair mask, the odds of me getting back in the shower to rinse my hair are slim to none. This is where Honey’s Handmade Minute Deep Conditioners save the day.
Instead of multiple oils and butters each of these four conditioners are created with just one nurturing carrier oil or butter along with other natural ingredients to treat your hair. And all you need is one minute.

Today I used the Just Castor Minute Deep Conditioner. In my opinion it has the best scent, followed by the Just Avocado. I admit, I also chose the castor because of the activated charcoal. I have never used a product with activated charcoal on my hair before. I wonder if this could be used as a co-wash due to the cleansing benefits of the charcoal, however today I followed my usual wash day routine that I would do if using a normal conditioner, which is to wash my hair, apply the condition, handle all usual shower business, and then rinse out the conditioner. I’d say the conditioner was probably on my hair for a total of about 10-15 minutes. I didn’t know what to expect with the activated charcoal, but surprisingly this conditioner had a ton of slip which made for easy detangling. I was also surprised with how easily it distributed through my hair and that I didn’t need to use the entire 2oz jar.
Yes, 2oz jar! These were the newly released Just a Minute Mini Series that I was able to get for $1 each during a Friday Frenzy sale. And I’m already wishing that I had gotten more. Hopefully these just minute deep conditioners will be added to the product line up. I suggest you hop on over to the Honey’s Handmade website and join their mailing list and text VIP Club so you can be notified of these sales.
Overall, my first impression of the Just Castor Minute Deep Conditioner is that good things really do come in small packages. My hair felt clean but still hydrated. I am hopeful that the others will be just as beneficial to my hair. Dare I say that I may be looking forward to wash day.
