Hello again babes and Happy New Year! I will spare you the usual comments about how I can’t believe 2018 has ended and 2019 is already upon us and where did the year go? However, I can assure you that is exactly how I feel. Not to mention that it’s been literally ages since I’ve written a blog post. So before any more of this new year gets away from me, I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite products from 2018. Below I’ve listed 18 hair and beauty products that I either used faithfully throughout the year or discovered for the first time in 2018 and instantly fell in love with.

- Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic – If you’ve been following my IG stories than you know I’m a bit of a hair product junkie, but this one is my all time favorite curly hair styler. Gives me perfect curls with hold every time.
- Deva Curl B Leave In – I did take a break from Curly Magic and gave these two Deva Curl products a try and found a dynamic curl duo! I don’t know how, but this leave in plumps your curls like nobody’s business!
- Deva Curl SuperCream – Cocktail this with the B Leave In and you can thank me later!
- Beekman 1802 Shampoo Bar – Fun fact about me, I watch a lot of HSN (Home Shopping Network), which is where I discovered the Beekman Boys and their goat milk products! After feeling like my current “coconut water” shampoo was not doing my hair any favors, in fact I’m pretty sure it was leaving my hair anything but hydrated, I decided to give the shampoo bars a try. These babies lather like crazy yet are super moisturizing!
- Shea Moisture Raw Shea & Cupuaçu Hair Masque – This has got to be the most underrated of all the Shea Moisture products and also the hardest to find on the ground. This stuff has amazing slip and makes detangling a breeze. It clumps my curls and leaves them super moisturized. Don’t even get me started on the smell!
- Silk Elements Heat Protection Spray – Silk Elements is an oldie but a goody! I have been using this heat protection spray for as long as I can remember, way before I ever went natural. This spray leaves my blow outs smooth and silky. I apply it to each section before blow drying and again before smoothing my hair with my InStyler.
- Brazilian Bum Bum Cream – Okay, before I even start on this one, let me apologize in advance for the price. I still think the price is a bit ridiculous, however, once you try it, you will come around like I did and start to think, “Okay, maybe it’s really worth it!” I mean anything that promises to visibly tighten the appearance of the skin, (especially the bum) sign me up and again with the smell, I don’t know, maybe its the cupuaçu butter that I love, because it’s in this stuff too! But seriously, I do have really dry skin, one of the side effects of having hypothyroidism, so I take moisturizing pretty serious. And I definitely notice a difference in how my skin feels when I use this.
- Kopari Coconut Deodorant – I have been wanting to try a natural deodorant for a while now and this one came highly recommended by one of my favorite youtubers, MakeupByTiffanyD. Also, again if you know me then you know that coconut oil is my jam so the idea of a coconut oil based deodorant honestly intrigued me. I’ve been using it for a few months now and so far I am liking it and plan to continue using it at least through winter. They do suggest that you allow time to let your body detox from the traditional aluminum antiperspirants you had been using. To read more about the detox process you can go to kopari.com/detox.
- Elizabeth and James Nirvana Amethyst – Nirvana has become my signature scent. I love scents that are warm and spicy and almost reminiscent of a men’s cologne. Amethyst is my favorite of the Nirvana scents but I love mixing it with either Nirvana Black or Nirvana Bourbon to create a truly signature scent. I prefer purchasing the rollerball size because they are the perfect size for travel or stashing in your handbag.
10. Colourpop Creme Lipstick in Pinkies Up – Looking for the perfect pinky nude lipstick? Well look no further because this is it.
11. Colourpop Matte Lippie Stix in Grunge – This one is the perfect shade of brown with a slight red undertone. This is the lip color that I reach for the most and is always in my handbag.
12. Sephora Liquid Lip Stain in Frozen Strawberry – Another great nude on its own, but I have used this one layered with either Pinkies Up or Grunge. I’ve even layered all three to create my own perfect shade of brown.
13. Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara – Mascara is something that I am still trying to master, but this one has quickly become a favorite. It delivers tons of volume and the brush is not so big that I’m getting mascara all over my eyelid, which is what happens whenever I try to use the Better Than Sex mascara. This mascara has almost made me abandon my desire to try false lashes. Almost!
14. Colourpop Highlighter in Parasol – I am a big fan of Colourpop cosmetics! I particularly love the texture of their supershock shadows, blushes and highlighters. Of all the highlighters I own, this peachy gold is the one I have been reaching for almost daily.
15. Bare Minerals Powder Concealer in Dark Bisque – This powder concealer amazingly covers blemishes, imperfections and redness while also providing SPF 20!
16. Bare Minerals Cleansing Oil – If you haven’t tried a cleansing oil, I say give this one a try. You apply the oil cleanser to your dry skin to break down makeup and dirt, you then add water which turns the oil into this milky emulsion. This cleanser leaves your skin feeling very moisturized and is great for sensitive skin.
17. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – For the longest time I would watch youtubers spritzing this on their face and wonder what if anything it was actually doing? I finally bit the bullet and gave it a try and now I can’t be without it. Helps my make up stay put all day even in the most humid weather.
18. Garnier Micellar Water – I was late to jump on the micellar water bandwagon. But this is another product I can’t do without. I love it for quickly removing my eye makeup. It’s gentle enough for sensitve skin and doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. I will often use the micellar water first then follow up with the oil cleanse to ensure I’ve cleaned away all of my make up.
