Hello again! If you have been reading my blog this week, first off all a great big THANK YOU for that, but you may be asking yourself what is up with all the frequent blog posts from Carla? As a reader, you probably know that I am not always consistent when it comes to writing for the blog. To help me improve my blogging consistency, I am participating in the Mattie James Consistency Challenge for the month of July. Hence, the daily blog posts.
Unfortunately, my severe procrastination issues creep into various areas of my life. The latest being tax preparation. Have you filed your 2019 tax return? I haven’t and the deadline (the extended deadline due to Covid-19) is fast approaching. It’s on my to do list to get started today and have completed by the weekend because also on the to do list is to finish drafting and prepping next weeks blog posts. But before I dive into that, I wanted to share with you a tax resource that I will be turning to so that I can be better prepared for tax season come next year.
Meet Kesha, the certified accountant and tax coach behind the podcast #TaxTalk and website themillennialtaxpert.com! If you have a small business you need to check her out. I manage a handful of websites for other small business owners and I am the absolute worst when it comes to tracking expenses associated with my small business. (FYI, this is the sole reason for my tax procrastination) After listening to just one episode of Kesha’s podcast, 10 Things to Do Before Starting Your Business, I am able to identify places where I need to make a few changes.
For those of you with children, I know this will be of particular interest to a few of you because someone asked the very question during one of Mattie’s Instagram lives, (and was the catalyst behind me deciding to share this info on the blog) Kesha offers an eBook on how to Hire Your Kids. I believe she is currently offering a discount when you join her email list. So what are you waiting for? Also be sure to do like I did and get her free download, Record Keeping Tips for New Business Owners, so we can get our tax records together and be ready when its time to file those 2020 taxes.
I hope that you guys found this information as helpful as I did. As usual feel free to reach out with any questions you may have and as always thanks so much for stopping by!
